AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To provide a means of fellowship within the Methodist Church Ghana suited to the needs of young people.

2. To help young people to come to a personal faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and providing opportunities to study, discuss and pray about their growing faith in Him.

3. To deepen members’ understanding of the Christian faith and its application to personal, social and economic life.

4. To encourage members to render practical services for and on behalf of the Methodist Church Ghana.

5. To help young people to appreciate the unity of the church in its diversity and to promote the sense of belonging to a world Christian church.

MEMBERSHIP

1. Membership shall open to all young people in the Methodist Church Ghana between the ages of 18 and 35. Members above 35 years shall not hold office.

2. a)   New members shall serve a minimum of 3 months probation period during which

      there shall   be a conscientious effort by the fellowship (branch) to teach the person to

      accept Jesus as his/her personal savior, grow into maturity and be given orientation o

      the aims and objectives and practice of the fellowship.

b)  Members shall be enrolled at service of dedication to be conducted by either the

     Branch, Circuit or Diocesan Officer(s).

3. All members shall be full members of the Methodist Church Ghana or on admission be full members within one year.

4. Brethren from other Christian Churches may be admitted as Associate members but shall not hold office.

THE MYF BADGE

1. THE ROUND SHAPE:    The world as the Supreme Union of God and all Christian Youth.

2. THE BIBLE COLOUR:  The Methodist colour and the bright sky.

3. THE YELLOW COLOUR:  The rich golden (Gold Coast) Ghana and also the heavenly treasures we are craving for.

4. THE SHELL:  God the Father protecting all of us as the oyster is protected by the shell.

5. THE TRIANGLE:  The trinity(God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit)

6. THE LINE UNDER THE SHELL:  A chain of brotherhood that links all members of the Fellowship all over the world

MOTTO AND SALUTATION

1. The motto of the Fellowship shall be (“We Work; We witness; We Worship”).

2. The salutation/ slogan shall be “We-One”, Indicating our oneness in Jesus Christ irrespective of social and economic background and to fulfilling our Lord’s desire and prayer. “That they may all be one”

RIGHT AND OBLIGATIONS OF MEMBERS

1. Members shall have the right to vote at all meetings of the fellowship and shall be entitled to all privileges that may be hand down by the Fellowship.

2. All members shall promote, encourage, facilitate and help in the realization of the set aims and objectives of the Fellowship.

UNIFORMS

1. The uniform for the fellowship for all the church’s parade shall be:

a. Brothers

White long-sleeved shirt;

Blue-black pair of Trousers;

A blue-black flying tie to match;

A pair of black shoe and the fellowship’s badge.

b. Sisters

White ‘Kaba’ and blue black long skirt;

White necklace, Head-kerchief;

Earrings, a pair of black Full Shoe and the Fellowship’s badge.

2. For fellowship meetings and programmes of the Branch, Circuit, Diocese and Connexion, members shall be in White shirt / kaba / Blouse or the T- Shirt of the fellowship as directed.  

THE USE OF THE YOUTH CLOTH

3. a. Brothers:

A lapel long or short-sleeved Shirt with one breast pocket. It is to be used with the normal Blue-Black pair of Trousers and a pair of black shoe.

b. Sisters

A long straight slit with an over-lapping opening at the back. The top shall be a neck –shirt sleeve with darts and a zip at the back and a pair of Black Shoe.
